To ensure a smooth and memorable experience, we’ve introduced a Hike-In Ceremony Fee for weddings that require a hike to the ceremony site. This fee helps cover the extra time, preparation, and effort needed to reach more remote or elevated locations, ensuring you have an officiant who’s ready for any adventure—so you can focus on your big day.
🎒 Additional Considerations for a Hike-In Ceremony
Given the unique nature of a remote ceremony, additional factors have to be taken into consideration:
Travel and Preparation Time: The officiant will need to account for travel to the trailhead, the hike itself, and preparation time at the ceremony site.
Equipment: Carrying necessary items such as ceremony materials, backpack for water and snacks, walking stick, etc.
Physical Demand: The hike involves elevation gain and potentially challenging terrain, requiring physical stamina and appropriate attire.
Weather Contingencies: Mountain weather can be unpredictable, requiring flexibility and preparedness for sudden changes.
How We Determine our Hike-In fees
Short Hikes (Up to 1 Mile to site):
Consideration: For hikes of less than 1 mile, especially if the terrain is not particularly rugged, a fee of $100 will be added.
Moderate Hikes (1–2 Miles to site):
Consideration: For hikes in the 1–2 mile range, particularly if there’s elevation gain or more challenging terrain, a fee of $200 will be added. This compensates for the increased time, effort, and possible gear needed.
Longer or More Difficult Hikes (Over 2 Miles to site):
Consideration: For hikes over 2 miles or those with rugged terrain (like a steep incline, boulders, or technical challenges), we charge a fee of at least $300 depending on location and terrain. The officiant’s physical effort and time commitment increase substantially at this distance. In all honesty, if this is your dream wedding location, we’re probably not the officiant best suited to serve you.
