Meet Jo Burns – Officiant, Connector, and Celebrator of Love
Jo Burns is a passionate Colorado wedding officiant, national speaker, and connection expert who believes love is the most powerful force we have. Whether she’s facilitating public health workshops or standing beside couples on their wedding day, her purpose remains the same: to help people feel seen, supported, and celebrated.
Jo became an officiant in 2020 as a natural extension of her business, Jo Burns Connects, where she champions the health benefits of belonging and human connection. With more than 45 weddings under her belt—held in gardens, on mountaintops, during snowstorms, in backyards, and everywhere in between—Jo brings warmth, ease, and a playful spirit to every ceremony she officiates.
She and her husband Brian have been happily married for 36 years, raising two amazing young adult kids. She understands that marriage is about growing together, and she brings that insight to every couple she works with.
Jo has been honored as the National Speakers Association–Colorado’s Candidate and Volunteer of the Year and is a seasoned keynote speaker across the country in parks, recreation, and public health. She’s also an avid lover of Colorado’s great outdoors, often found hiking, skiing, paddleboarding, gardening, or relaxing in her backyard with a good book and close friends.
