Get back to nature without a back country hike!
Located in the Gunnison National Forest, you’ll drive down a dirt road on the north side of the main entrance and past the campground to find this idyllic meadow on the other side of the bridge over Lottis Creek.
Get married in the meadow and reserve the group pavilion for the party if you’re having guests! There is one group site with pavilion accommodating 50 people and 10 vehicles. Restrooms are in walking distance.
Camp on location or reserve lodging in nearby Gunnison (26 mi) or Crested Butte (27 mi).

Directions:
From Gunnison, CO, travel north on Highway 135 for 10 miles to Almont. At intersection of State Rt. 135 and County Rt. 742, take Rt. 742 for 16.7 miles to campground sign. Turn right into campground.

Fee: $6 for day use of picnic area, $24 per night camping unit plus other fees. NOTE: we married a couple without reservations… since it’s on the back side of the property, we just showed up.

Although we’ve officiated a wedding there where the couple did not make a reservation, we recommend you talk to the property before you just drop in.
Meadow site offers dirt parking for a few cars. 10 cars in pavilion area.
A little walking is involved, but it’s manageable with minor mobility issues. It is not wheelchair friendly.
Facilities are available in campground (short drive from meadow).

It’s highly unlikely that you’ll encounter anyone…. except wildlife.
Bring your water to stay hydrated!
There is NO shelter for the ceremony in bad weather unless you’ve rented the group picnic site.
